What you get with V8.2
Everything Midjourney V8 can do, without Discord
Four variations every run
Each job returns a grid of four images, or four clips, so you can pick the strongest take. The price covers all four.
Native 2K HD
Switch to 2K HD for a higher-resolution render straight from the model, without a separate upscale step.
Style references
Upload an image as a style reference (sref) to carry its palette, texture and mood into a new prompt.
Stylize, chaos, weird, seed
Tune how strong the Midjourney aesthetic is, how varied the four results are, how unconventional they get, and pin a seed to repeat a look.
Image to video
Animate a still into four 5-second clips at 480p or 720p, with low or high motion.
No Discord, no subscription
Run it in the browser with imageat credits or call it from your own code with one imageat API key.
Quickstart
Your first request
Keep the API key on your server. Image requests are synchronous and return all four URLs in about two minutes, so set a long timeout. Video requests return a task ID to poll.
POST /v1/images → urls[4]
POST /v1/videos → taskId
GET /v1/videos/status?taskId=… → urls[4]

The same midjourney-v8 model id works on both endpoints. Image runs use POST /v1/images; image-to-video uses POST /v1/videos.
| Parameter | Endpoint | Values | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| model | Both | midjourney-v8 | Selects Midjourney V8 (V8.2) on /v1/images and /v1/videos. |

| aspectRatio | Images | 1:1, 9:16, 16:9, 4:3, 3:4, 2:3, 3:2, 9:21, 21:9 | Frame shape of all four images. |
| resolution | Both | Images: 1K, 2K · Video: 480p, 720p | Image 2K turns on native 2K HD. Video resolution sets clip quality and price. |
| images | Images | array of https or data URLs | images[0] is the image to re-imagine (image-to-image); images[1] is used as the style reference. |
| styleReferenceUrl | Images | https URL | Style reference (sref) when you are not passing images[1]. |
| stylize | Images | 0–1000 (default 100) | Strength of Midjourney's own aesthetic. |

FAQ
Midjourney V8 questions
Do I need a Midjourney subscription or Discord to use Midjourney V8?
No. You can run Midjourney V8 directly on imageat in your browser with imageat credits, or call it through the imageat API with one API key. There is no Discord server and no separate Midjourney plan involved.
Is this the official Midjourney API?
No. imageat is an independent platform. We run Midjourney V8.2 through a hosted inference provider and expose it through the same imageat API and credits you use for other models.
Why does every run return four results?
Midjourney works in grids: each job produces four variations of your prompt (or four clips for video). The price on this page is per run and covers all four outputs.
What does 2K HD do?
2K HD renders the four images at Midjourney's native 2K resolution instead of the standard size. It costs 6 credits per run in the browser, or $0.26 per run through the API.
How do stylize, chaos and weird work?
Stylize (0–1000, default 100) controls how strongly Midjourney's own aesthetic is applied. Chaos (0–100) makes the four variations more different from each other. Weird (0–3000) pushes results toward unconventional looks. Add a seed to reproduce a result.
Can I use a style reference?
Yes. Upload a style reference in the playground, or send styleReferenceUrl (or images[1]) through the API, and Midjourney borrows that image's palette, texture and mood.
Can Midjourney V8 make videos?
Yes. Upload a still image and Midjourney animates it into four 5-second clips at 480p or 720p, with low or high motion. The prompt is optional.
How long does a generation take?
Image runs take about two minutes. Through the API the image request is synchronous, so use a client timeout of at least 300 seconds. Video runs are asynchronous: submit the task, then poll the status endpoint.
What happens if a generation fails?
Image runs are only charged once the four images are delivered, and failed video runs are refunded automatically.
